Aki was handed over a full southern shelter where owner surrenders are the first to be euthanized (because of a lack of hold period to see if someone is looking for them). The workers all found him to be so sweet and ready to be with a forever family so they worked their magic with networking and NELR is happy to help find him his happily ever after. Aki does very well with kids as well as other dogs and knows how to socialize. He is potty & crate trained, though he's trustworthy out and about in the home. He'd love to join you in the big human bed at night, but if you need your space he does well with a dog bed, too. He’s good on leash and knows some basic cues from his previous life. He’s been settling in well at his northern foster home where he got treated to a bath and some fun toys! He's super sweet, easy-going, and already pretty close to perfect, even after so many big changes in his life. This handsome, lovely boy is ready to be a true member of a family!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
