Bear’s “time was up” at a southern shelter so was taken in by one of our rescue friends with the hopes of finding him a good home. Unfortunately, a hurricane was coming and threatening chaos so she contacted NELR to see if we could transport him to New England to find a forever family. We’re happy to help in any way we can and can’t wait to see handsome Bear happily settled. He loves everyone and gets along well with kids, cats, and loves other dogs so much that we think he’d really enjoy a sibling or frequent playdates like a neighbor or playgroup. He’s an easy-going, affectionate boy that aims to please, loves positive attention, and often offers ‘sit’ when looking for direction. Bear has been good with harness walking, loves car rides, is well-mannered in the house, and knows a few basic cues. He suffered a few seizures recently, but the vet started him on a reasonable medication and he hasn’t had an issue since - he takes it daily without issue and will need to keep up with this medication (unless otherwise directed by your vet). He really loves being included and feeling like a part of the family, and would enjoy a home with others around a lot. He’s potty trained, smart, super loving and can’t wait to be a happy member of your family!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
