Daisy’s time was urgently running out at an overfull shelter down south. She was thought to be pregnant and when NELR heard her original rescuers backed out at the literal last minute and she was prepped and ready for euthanasia, we made an emergency call and thankfully the shelter halted immediately and worked with us to wait for one of our amazing southern fosters to drive the 4 hours to get her. It turns out Daisy was not pregnant but in heat and suffering from malnutrition, so we got her settled into a foster home to begin a healing journey (and get spayed). She’s still very shy and shaky around new things, but it’s understandable after all she’s been through. She gets braver every day and we are so proud of her, just look at that smile come through! She gets along with other dogs, and has been good about pottying in the right spots and behaving in the home. She’s sweet and gentle, and would love that kind of grace in return. She’s a darling girl that would enjoy a patient, easy-going family that will give her a routine and positive reinforcement to help build her confidence… and of course plenty of pampering, too!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
