Not long ago, Elsa's mom, Pippa, was living on the streets down south — hungry, searching for shelter, and longing for someone to love and protect her. Life for strays is cruel, but we are so thankful our rescue friends are always on the lookout - guardian angel-style! - for these pups. One of our southern fosters took her in and got her care. When Pippa went in for her vetting, they confirmed she was actually pregnant! This can be risky for strays in the overpopulated South, where they are trying desperately to get the stray population under control, so NELR was happy to step in and take mama and her litter on so they could remain safe and have a chance at life and happiness. Pippa said “hold my puppuccino” and had a huge litter, including adorable little Elsa! Elsa was born into the smells, sounds, comforts, and love of home life and we are so thankful for that!

Elsa (and her siblings and mom) just reached New England and is thriving in her new foster home. She’s playful, curious, affectionate, and adorable - everything you could want in a puppy! She’s a smart pup and has been learning a lot, but continued bonding over training skills with a forever family is a great way to show your little pupper what life in your forever home is all about, as well as open good communication with your new family member.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
