Introducing Hershey! Hershey came all the way from Puerto Rico to find a forever home in New England, the land of pampered fur babies! A lack of spaying/neutering for a streak of years in PR lead to a huge influx of dogs lacking homes and care, so NELR and many other US rescues vow to help out whenever it is possible. Hershey has been in the comfort and safety of a foster home for a few months, patiently waiting to be spoken for, so our PR rescue friends asked if we could help this precious little guy be seen. He's potty & crate trained and loves human companionship! He gets on great with other dogs, and is good with kids and cats. He had an old fracture that was checked by the vet and shown to have healed well and presents no issues. His foster says he’s very smart, loves enrichment games, and is playful and happy. Even though he’s a goofy puppy, he’s also polite and not jumpy, which is pretty impressive for his age! He’s a fast learner and is treat motivated, which be great for bonding with your new family member. He’s going to be such a great buddy for some lucky person/family!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
