Lilah was a stray down south, wandering from house to house in search of food. Luckily she stumbled upon an NELR foster friend’s home, and they took her in to safety. It was soon discovered that she was pregnant, and Lilah was able to give birth safely in an experienced foster home where her litter would know the smells, sounds, and care of home life since birth! Her litter has since found loving homes up here through NELR, while Mama Lilah stayed behind to receive heartworm treatment after she was done nursing. Lilah enjoyed her time with her southern foster, taking it easy and getting lots of love, but she is now done with treatment and feeling great! She’s ready to find a forever home in New Hampshire or Vermont (*due to some states’ transport regulations regarding recently heartworm-positive animals). She is a super sweet girl that’s terrific with other dogs of all ages, and even looked after her young friend Ranger (also adopted) while they were on the streets in search of food. She’s a true, incredible caregiver and full of love, but now it’s her turn to be taken care of and pampered as someone’s beloved fur-baby! She loves to cuddle, and also enjoys getting some playtime. She’s well-mannered, listens well, and will take to training. She was great with her southern foster’s kids and loved curling up in a blankie and hanging out with them on the couch. She’s potty & crate trained, loves home life, and can’t wait to be a part of a family of her own.

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
