Penny was found during an awful hurricane down south and brought to safety. One of our amazing rescue friends took in dozens of dogs in need during this time and we can’t thank them enough for their kindness to our favorite creatures. NELR is happy to help move some of the hurricane survivors up north to find loving homes in New England. Penny is super sweet and loves other dogs and humans of all ages. She plays great and takes cues well, and would probably enjoy a playful canine sibling or nearby dog friend to have playdates with. She LOVES toys and will be fun to spoil and watch her explore all the different kinds while she collects, chews, and eventually naps with them! She walks well on leash and has been learning some basic cues. She’s ready to find her happily ever after in a forever family and enjoy all New England has to offer!

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
