Not long ago, sweet Pippa was living on the streets down south — hungry, searching for shelter, and longing for someone to love and protect her. Life for strays is cruel, but we are so thankful our rescue friends are always on the lookout - guardian angel-style! - for these pups. One of our southern fosters took her in and got her care. When Pippa went in for her vetting, they confirmed she was actually pregnant! This can be risky for strays in the overpopulated South, where they are trying desperately to get the stray population under control, so NELR was happy to step in and take Pippa and her litter on so they could remain safe and have a chance at life and happiness. Pippa said “hold my puppuccino” and had a huge litter of ELEVEN babies! That’s eleven new best friends! She was able to bring them into a safe, love-filled world with our southern foster and nurse and teach them until they were ready to travel north to New England.

Pippa has since been spayed and is ready to be the baby in someone’s life now 🥰 She’s doing great and is loving being a spoiled, carefree pet and can’t wait to be a beloved family member! She’s decent on leash, has discovered a love of toys, and is smart and eager to please. She’s playful and loves a walk in the woods. She’s a bit startled by loud noises but loves affection and is settling into home life like a champ!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
