Sweet Serene was a stray in an area down south where some people make it a “sport” to be cruel to the strays. Awful, we know, and the good humans are doing everything they can to address the situation, but in the meantime, NELR was happy to help Serene get to safety. She is a very sweet, submissive pup that is a little shy after all the confusion she faced on the streets, but has been doing great in foster care. She loves being with her people and enjoys the company of other dogs that she can look to for confidence. She is so darling and we’re glad that dogs are forgiving, wonderful creatures! She’s very food motivated which makes for easy training. She’s been fine with cats so far, but has been learning to play more (yay!) and may become too silly for most cats. She’d really love the comfort of family (both human and canine) around a lot to soak up all the love she's missed out on.

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
