Stormi and her sister are from a Yellow Lab mom and Shar Pei dad’s encounter. Our southern rescue friends helped saved them from ending up in a dangerous situation, quickly fell in love with these “smooshie-face cuties,” and are excited to be able to help find them safe New England homes with NELR – we are, too! Dad is staying with his owners, but Mama Solei will be joining us in New England soon. In the meantime, Stormi and her sister are settling into their New England foster homes well and doing all the fun puppy things – exploring, snuggling, playing, and learning! Stormi is adorable, affectionate, and excited for her future. Since her mix is known, we’d recommend a home with breed-familiarity as Shar Peis are a very loyal dog and without proper training that loyalty can present itself as territorial behavior. Positive reinforcement and proper socialization will be excellent tools to help your new family member grow into her very best self! She’s a smart pup and has been learning a lot in foster care, but continued bonding over training skills with a forever family is a great way to show your little pupper what life in your forever home is all about, as well as open good communication with your new family member. 

 

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
