Yuca is a Sato dog that’s flown all the way from Puerto Rico to find a loving forever home! He was found as a stray – something common in Puerto Rico, where lack of spaying/neutering for a streak of years has lead to a huge influx of dogs lacking homes – so like many continental US rescues, we have pledged to help when possible. Thankfully there are many amazing PR rescue friends who took good care of this little sweetie, giving him love and vetting to prep for his big trip to New England! Yuca was getting used to foster home life in PR and immediately made himself at home here in New England, quickly becoming a huge fan of his foster dad! Yuca is a young, silly boy that enjoys chew toys, playing nicely with his human friends, getting silly with his dog friends, and getting to romp in a yard or go for adventures. He’s going to make an amazing sidekick! As he’s settling into the good life, he prefers to enjoy his toys and food away from other dogs to help him feel safe while he learns that he IS safe, which is understandable given all he’s been though in his short life. He’s good at ‘sit,’ takes treats gently, and is good on leash. He’s been doing well pottying in the right spots as he gets used to his new schedule and surroundings, and is a good boy in his crate overnight. He loves cuddling, which is great because his fur is SO soft! He would probably enjoy a home where he can come along for the ride and get to see the world, and having a fenced yard or hiking buddy would be so fun for him. We have a feeling this pup is going to make an amazing best friend and keep you laughing and full of love!

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
