Cooper is a great pup that had an all-too-common sad beginning, but he’s sweet, resilient, and ready to build a positive future with a loving family. Sadly, Cooper spent some of his early life around an abusive man and that initially made him weary of men, understandably. He’s spent some extra time with his southern foster around males from teen to adult ages and has become much more comfortable around them. He will just need initial time, space, and patience for you to earn his trust – again, understandable! In his southern foster home his foster family found that treats, gentle encouragement, soft voices, and no immediate expectations work beautifully with him. Within about 30 minutes, Cooper would begin to relax and realize that the people around him are going to treat him kindly. In his northern foster home he has already been making new male friends after only initial shyness, and we are so proud of him for rebuilding that trust, what a brave boy! Cooper is potty & crate trained and enjoys silly playdates with other dogs but is content as the only pup in the home to soak up all the love. He bonds deeply with his trusted people… and his squeaker toys! He would love a family that is around more often than not to spend time with. Now that he knows how good life can be with the right people, he wants to make up for lost time and replace all the bad memories with awesome, loving family ones. Oh, and you must love cuddling!! Although he loves cuddle time, he’s also content to amuse himself with his toys or gaze out the window at the neighborhood – he’ll let you know if there’s any good gossip! Give him a little patience and kindness in the beginning, and he will show you just how loving and trusting he can become ❤️

All of our available adoptable dogs are on our website. If a dog is no longer listed on the Adoptable Dogs page, it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
