Fostering is a fun way to get your dog fix when you are able.​​ It is also a vital part of our process and has a huge, positive impact on each dog's rescue journey.​ 

  • ​​We are in need of foster homes in Southern Maine immediately!​​

  • We also need foster homes in the rest of New England as well as GA, NC, SC and TN.

​​REQUIREMENTS

What are the requirements to be an NELR foster home?
 
​We need all kinds of foster homes! Our rescue dogs may be good with any combination of dogs, kids, and/or cats, but some may need the comfort and quiet of just an adult or two, so all families are welcome. Some dogs may only need a few short weeks to decompress and be ready to move ont o their forever families, and some dogs need a longer stay due medical needs or a longer decompression time to de-stress from their past. We take all these things into consideration before matching our fosters with a dog - just as we do with our adoptions. All of our dogs are friendly and so grateful to their human companions!
