Dahlia and Iris are a lovely bonded pair that may even be littermates. NELR was contacted by someone who transplanted down South from New England and is beginning a mission of helping the overpopulation of stray dogs down there by trapping and prepping strays for home life (after checking for owners, of course) and a trip north - amazing!! They’ve actually grown so fond of this adorable pair that they considered keeping them, but they know it would hinder the amount of dogs they could help in the future, so they’ve entrusted NELR to find Dahlia & Iris a loving home - together - up here in New England, and we are honored to do so! 

 

The girls’ amazing finders have introduced them to all the typical home-life things like leashes, manners, and normal household routines, and they are so people-affiliated that they have been rocking them all! Iris is a little more confident and Dahlia looks to her for reassurance, but both absolutely adore time with their people. They get along well with other dogs of all personality types and are respectful of their varying boundaries, and they're also good with cats! They’re doing great on leash walks, and are also so interested in their favorite people that they have potential to be off-leash once they learn an official recall. They jump right into cars and trucks for travel so they can join you on all life’s adventures! They love to have the option of snuggling up together, but also enjoy some private time in their own crates. A fenced yard is honestly so fun with multiple dogs because you can all play and interact together easily and safely - and a lot of laughs can be had! Dahlia and Iris are extremely loving and trusting little ladies that are sure to provide lots of heart-warming experiences to some lucky family.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
