If you're looking for a very special puppy who will reward your patience with a lifetime of love, then please meet Ginger.

Ginger had a heartbreaking start to life. She and her brother were found living inside the chimney base of an abandoned, run-down house, where they had been left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, a kind Samaritan rescued them and brought them to Cookie's Canine Rescue & Sanctuary in the South. After receiving the care she needed, including being spayed, the rescue reached out to New England Lab Rescue, and we were honored to welcome Ginger into our program to help her find the loving New England home she deserves.

Ginger is a beautiful chocolate puppy with an incredibly sweet heart and adorable, white lacey toes! Because of her difficult beginning, Ginger is understandably shy when meeting new people. She needs a few days to learn that she is safe and that she can trust you. Once that trust is earned, however, she absolutely blossoms! She transforms into a happy little "Spice Girl" who loves to play, follows her people everywhere, and happily greets those she knows with tail wags and kisses.

One of Ginger's greatest comforts is having another friendly, confident dog by her side. She watches other dogs for reassurance and quickly learns from them, so she must be adopted into a home with another playful, social dog. She truly thrives with canine companionship and enjoys puppy play, running, and simply being part of the family.

Ginger is looking for a family that understands that rescue is a journey. She isn't a puppy who will immediately run into the arms of strangers—but if you're willing to give her the patience, kindness, and gentle encouragement she needs, you'll watch something truly remarkable happen. Day by day, she'll gain confidence, discover the joy of being loved, and become an incredibly devoted companion. Some of the very best dogs are the ones who simply need someone to believe in them.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
