Beautiful Sadee was scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space at the crowded shelter and a constant stray and surrender intake of dogs down south. Our amazing rescue friends got in touch with NELR and were able to get Sadee to safety at one of our southern foster homes. She appeared to be a chocolate Lab at first, but upon further photos, we think she’s potentially closer to a Kelpie mix – either way she is SAFE and we know we can find her an amazing loving home up here! You may recognize this beautiful gal from our recent Have a Heart Fundraiser for heartworm treatments. During her routine vetting, she was found to be heartworm-positive, so she stayed down south a little longer to go through her treatment, but now she’s all done, feeling great and is ready to find her loving forever home in New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine (*due to some state’s regulations regarding transport of recently heartworm positive animals). Sadee is a lovely young dog that is excited to start her happily ever-after with a loving New England family! Her foster says, "She's settled in wonderfully, a truly affectionate and delightful presence." She’s good with other dogs and reads their personalities, but she especially loves when they want to play with her. She would be delighted to have another friendly dog pal in her forever home. Sadee's sweet and easy-going, even doing well around her foster's chickens! She’s good on leash, is intelligent treat-motivated, and loves a good chew toy. She’d love a home that will take her on adventures to explore all the wonderful offerings and seasons up here, and make lots of fond memories together!

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
