Shelby is a gorgeous young pup that can't wait to love life with you! Despite having had a difficult, neglected start in life, she is an incredibly loving girl that would love to make up for lost time with you. Shelby spent much of her younger life living outside, possibly on hard cement, without the quality nutrition or care she deserved. As a result, she came to NELR with very dry, patchy skin but after soothing baths, nutritious food, and some wonderful foster and vet TLC, she's looking and feeling amazing! She's stayed a wonderful, loving, smiling, friendly girl through it all, and we can't wait to see her rewarded with an amazing family to celebrate life with!

Shelby is adorably curious and loves a mix of silly playtime and hanging out with her favorite people or dog friends. She rides well in the car and is having a blast playing with her new toys and dog friend at her foster home. She’s good with dogs and kiddos, though we’d recommend older/bigger kids since she likes to jump to greet sometimes. She’s a little strong on leash and gets distracted by critters, so she could use some training to help develop the best communication between you. Her foster is working with her on redirection at their homestead and she's doing a great job learning how to stay focussed with chickens, etc. around! She’s friendly, sweet, and loving, but she could use continued help figuring out that back-and-forth communication with positive reinforcement training. She’s very sweet and silly, and cannot wait to find a family to love and be loved by!

All of our available adoptable dogs are on our website. If a dog is no longer listed on the Adoptable Dogs page, it means they have an adoption pending.

We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.

We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
