Buddy’s story is one of second chances ❤️ Our southern rescue friends fell in love with him the moment they met him, but despite their best efforts, the shelters were overcrowded and no local rescues were able to take him. When his “time was up” they reached out to NELR, pleading on behalf of this sweet soul, and we are honored to be able to help find a gem like Buddy - who had so many seasoned rescuers falling in love with him - a loving, safe home up here in New England!
Buddy’s foster believes he once belonged to someone who cared for him because he’s incredibly well-mannered. This sweet, loving boy is fully potty & crate trained, and also trustworthy when left uncrated. He knows “sit,” takes treats gently, comes when called, walks well on leash, and listens attentively to his name! Buddy has lived with two cats and multiple dogs while in foster care, and was lovely with all. He really enjoys the companionship of other dogs and thrives playing alongside them. He’s easy-going but also enjoys some play and exercise; a dog who is just as content hanging out quietly as he is having some fun. She feels Buddy would do best in a home with another dog friend.
Per his foster, “If you are looking for a laid-back gentleman who enjoys just being in the same room as you, back scratches, playing fetch, and is the sweetest soul – Buddy is your guy!”

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
