Kenny’s mom, Kookie, was rescued from an overcrowded, high-risk southern shelter where a majority of dogs face euthanasia due to a constant influx of strays with very few adopters in the area. When NELR was contacted by the amazing volunteer network down there, we were happy to help spare this little family. Kookie worked very hard to keep her babies safe while living on the streets before being brought in by animal control, and we are so proud of her and happy that she gets a chance at her happily ever after (she will be available for adoption soon, she’s getting thoroughly pampered and vetted now that her pups are weened).
The puppies have just reached New England and are thriving in their new foster homes. Kenny is a sweet little cuddlebug and is loving all the attention. He’s playful, curious, affectionate, and adorable - everything you could want in a puppy! He’s friendly with everyone, including dogs/kids/cats, and has been having a great time exploring. He loves learning, sitting in laps, and was a very good boy for bath time. He’s a smart pup and has been learning a lot, but continued bonding over training skills with a forever family is a great way to show your little pupper what life in your forever home is all about, as well as open good communication with your new family member.
ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: We strongly advise positive reinforcement training/behavior classes with your new pup. Training is for the benefit of you and your puppy and will help you build a stronger relationship. Puppies do not know what they haven’t been taught and some “puppy proofing” may need to be done in your home. Please remember that little puppies come in little bodies that need potty breaks every few hours.

All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending.
We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue, veterinary care, and transportation of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes.
We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs.
